Ray Summit on Scalable Python and Scalable Machine Learning, May 27-28, 2020, at the Grand Hyatt hotel in San Francisco, CA

February 19, 2020 By Template.info

Anyscale, the distributed programming platform company, is proud to announce the details of Ray Summit, the inaugural industry conference dedicated to the use of the Ray open source framework for overcoming challenges in distributed computing at scale. The two-day event will be held May 27-28, 2020, at the Grand Hyatt hotel in San Francisco, CA.

Union Square, San Francisco

Distributed computing is essential to organizations looking to embrace modern AI technologies. However, distributed computing is extremely challenging as it requires engineers not only to build their applications, but also to build and manage the infrastructure to run their applications at scale.

With the power of Ray, developers can build applications and easily scale them from a laptop to a cluster, eliminating the need for in-house distributed computing expertise. Ray Summit brings together a leading community of architects, machine learning engineers, researchers and developers building the next generation of scalable, distributed, high-performance Python and machine learning applications. Experts will showcase Ray best practices, real-world case studies, and the latest research in AI and other scalable systems built on Ray.

“The future of computing is distributed,” said Robert Nishihara, Ray creator and Anyscale Co-founder and CEO. “By bringing together the brightest minds in the industry, we are providing a first-of-its-kind opportunity for individuals and organizations to share expertise and learn from each other’s experiences in leveraging Ray to simplify distributed computing.”

The conference will kick off on May 27 with a full day of tutorials suited to attendees with various experience and skill levels using Ray. Topics of discussion will include the basics of using Ray to scale Python applications and machine learning applications; an introduction to Ray’s popular machine learning libraries including those for reinforcement learning, hyperparameter tuning, model serving, and training; scaling reinforcement learning in practice; and using Keras to classify text with LSTMs and other machine learning techniques.

Keynote presentations and general sessions will take place on May 28. Confirmed speakers include Ray creator, Anyscale founder and University of California, Berkeley professor, Ion Stoica; University of California, Berkeley distinguished professor, Michael I. Jordan; J.P. Morgan head of AI research, Manuela Veloso; Google Brain senior research scientist, Azalia Mirhoseini; Pandas creator and Ursa labs founder, Wes McKinney; and Scikit-learn creator and Inria tenured research director, Gael Varoquaux.

Ray Summit welcomes current Ray users and those who are interested in learning how Ray can meet their needs.
