Node+JS Interactive in Vancouver, Oct. 10–12, 2018

npm, Inc., which runs the world’s largest software registry and maintains the ‘npm’ software development tool, today announced it is presenting and exhibiting at Node+JS Interactive in Vancouver, Oct. 10–12.

At Node+JS Interactive, attendees collaborate and learn how to enhance their JavaScript skills in serverless, IoT, backend and frontend environments. This year’s program will cover a broad spectrum of JavaScript ecosystem topics, including Node.js, frameworks, best practices and end user success stories.

This week at the event, members of the npm team — including Co-founder Laurie Voss, Head of Security Adam Baldwin and Head of Enterprise Product Ben Coe — will meet with customers and developers to discuss how npm maintains and protects the world’s largest software development community. The company will also discuss upcoming new tools for policy enforcement and automated security screening to protect companies from shipping unsafe applications, as well as a new version of npm Enterprise, the private registry service for large organizations.

Laurie Voss Speaking Session:

Title: “npm and the Future of JavaScript”
Description: In this talk, Laurie will discuss the development tools used within the npm community, what npm believes are best practices, what frameworks are on the rise and which are on the wane and where major pain points lie for developers.

Adam Baldwin Speaking Session:

Title: “Building a Threat Model & How npm Fits Into It”
Description: In this talk, Adam will discuss vulnerability threat models and how to build them for organizations and applications, how npm fits into threat models and how to use npm’s tools to keep JavaScript development secure.
Date/time: Oct. 11, 2:40–3:10 pm PDT
Location: Vancouver Convention Centre West Ballroom B
npm is exhibiting in booth S1, where it will demonstrate, among other things, its new automated security screening tools.
