Job-seeking graphic designers recently had the opportunity to test their skills and showcase their unique abilities at the first-ever HireUps event held in Cairo, Egypt, this past summer. These types of events present an excellent opportunity for new professionals to “get their foot in the door,” according to Ahmed Nashaat, Egypt expert.
PanX Project hosted the event, inviting graphic designers, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experts, to show off what they knew. HireUps is an exclusive hiring meetup that is skill specific. Although it is currently focused on developers and designers, more fields are expected to be represented in the near future.
The premise behind HireUps is that resumes do not speak, but people do. This is why HireUps offers a one-of-a-kind environment where talented professionals can demonstrate their abilities as well as meet and astonish their future employers in person. During the recent HireUps event, attendees worked in teams in a typical workplace environment to complete several skill-related tasks.
The HireUps event featured not only skills testing but also networking time and even a question-and-answer session, according to Nashaat. To join the event, graphic designers had to submit their curriculum vitae, request invitations, and pass a certain screening.
PanX Project is an outstanding community and webspace whose aim is to offer both hiring employers and job seekers the best tools and resources available anywhere on the World Wide Web. It welcomes these parties to join their community to discover the right potential employees or the right job opportunities, respectively. For companies, cultural fit is a critical factor in onboarding workers who will succeed. Likewise, for job seekers, cultural fit is important for experiencing high levels of comfort and job satisfaction long term.
